Home Blog Balancing Social Life and Studies

A college is a place where you meet a large number of new and wonderful people and make long-term friendships in place. During your time in college, you go to parties, have fun, try new hobbies and relax. All these activities are very tempting and consume a larger part of your day. And it is a well-established fact that hanging with friends is more exciting than studying for your next exams. This is the time when you may feel like you don't have the required time to do both activities. Therefore in this blog, we will understand the different ways in which we can balance our social life and studies in college.

Buddy vs Study?

When making choices in life, it is very common that we may have to decide between opposite choices and views along with radical advice. For instance, you can get advice that you shouldn't waste your time hanging around and should focus on your studies for now and you can catch up with your friends, dates, and other activities later. What do we get from this radical thinking?  This creates an image that we can't have both things together in life. It also creates a point that a successful academic life is impossible with a rich social life.  However, in reality, this unproductive and destructive mentality can lead to poor motivational levels and create other negative impacts on your mental health. It also impacts the overall mood, well-being, social life, and behavior pattern of the individual. So according to us, you can have a social life along with being a successful student. You just require a little help to balance your social life with your academic life.

  • Doing things together

In case you don't have extra time to spend with friends, then one important strategy is to combine the daily tasks and meeting the friends and utilize the spare time to the fullest.  For instance, you can hang out with your friends and clean the room or study together. OR you can work together or go for a walk together.  This will help in improving the friendship bond and also help replenish the daily tasks together.  You can go the the college campus together and have some small talk. You can also go for laundry or do your shopping and other extracurricular activities together. These methods are considered very helpful when you study in the same institute or live near each other.

  • Maintaining a healthy approach

It is important to draw a line at the time that determines how much time you should give to deal with your friends and spend your time with them. There may be friends that are not very much involved in studies or require less time for preparing for exams and homework when compared to you due to your chosen major or difference in learning processes. Therefore in this situation, it is important to manage them calmly and let your friends know what you require. And when you require more time for your studies just say, and a supportive friend will always understand. One of the hardest times in college is exam time when everyone feels stressed and tired. Therefore it is important that you are ready for this time and be less social as you both require more time and space to focus on your exams. All the people go through this period and true friendship always stays intact.

  • As for help when you feel, you have too many things to do

Asking for help when feel you can't handle alone anymore is not a sign of weakness.  Every person in this world requires the help of someone at any point in time.  Therefore when you require the help of someone to complete your daily tasks you should always take the help of the person you trust the most. These could include asking for help with laundry, getting food from a local store, or helping you cheer up when you feel low.  And if case you require any help with your academics you can come to our experts in the assignment in as to provide you with any type of help in your studies.  Our team of experts will be happy to help you complete your assignments, band business tasks, write papers, or solve your mathematics problems.

  • Don't put too much pressure on yourself.

It is wonderful to be successful in your studies, have too many friends, follow multiple hobbies, and be present everywhere all the time along with having a great time. However, it is also important to note that not everyone can do all the things together and at once. Therefore it becomes important to take a pause and think of different things that are putting extra pressure on you.  For instance, you can find yourself in a situation where you see that joining fice different cultural clubs is making your schedule too difficult to follow.  Or you may required to cancel your gym day to give rest to your body, or sometimes it may also include taking a few shifts less in your workplace.  And this is alright. You can't spend your entire life grabbing every single moment, as it results in burning you out fast. Therefore it is important to make a schedule that is somewhat relaxing and inspiring.
